Today, I'm launching the SHIELD-399, the portable digital forensics platform I've spent more than a year building.
I built it to bring evidence acquisition, triage, media preparation, and case-related reporting into one system. You can image a drive, hash and verify an acquisition, browse and search files, and extract selected content. The same unit handles wiping and formatting destination media for reuse.
The touchscreen gives you common tools and queue controls at the unit. The local browser dashboard lets you configure jobs and review cases, results, and reports from a computer, tablet, or phone. Both interfaces work with the same queue, so you can start a job at the unit and check its progress from your desk. Some tools and advanced settings are available only in the dashboard.
You can watch the introduction here. It's three minutes and 37 seconds.
I'm opening with a founding run of 10 units. The U.S. founding package is $4,795, with a 64 GB RAM SHIELD-399, your choice of chassis color and a Nanuk or Pelican protective case, and a limited two-year parts-and-labor hardware warranty. Black is immediately available with limited on shelf supply of the other colors.
That package also includes the EcoFlow 170W Field Power Bundle, with a 25,000 mAh power bank and a 140W USB-C-to-barrel cable. The included Media Adapter Kit provides connectivity for NVMe, M.2, SATA, IDE, SD, and microSD media.
I'll personally lead your team's virtual onboarding and training, with a follow-up session within 90 days of the initial session. You'll also have a direct line to me for feedback and feature requests. I'd like to hear what works for your team and where there is more work to do.
Founding customers receive two years of software updates and support, including fixes and new features released during that coverage. That's the first year included with every SHIELD-399, plus a free second year.
The software license never expires. After those two years, updates and support are optional at the standard renewal rate. If you don't renew, you can keep using the software. You just won't receive new updates.
If within 60 days of delivery you find it isn't the right fit, return the complete eligible configuration for a purchase-price refund. Returns require prior authorization. Authorized U.S. return shipping is covered, with no restocking fee; missing items or damage beyond reasonable evaluation can reduce the refund. The return conditions explain the details.
The founding package and ordering options are here.
If you have a workflow or capability integration you'd like to discuss first, [email me](mailto:hello@shadowandshield.com). I'd be glad to talk through what you need.
